I recently attended AFI Association of Food Industries convention as the +1 (my husband does the importing for Sahadi's) and I got to thinking that one of the things that sets us apart from many other specialty food stores is our ability to source the best from around the world. While the group was listening to lectures on quality control and traceability, I was thinking about how we often skip that step. In many cases, we run the entire supply chain. With our proprietary line roaster in Sunset Park, we also have the ability to control the roast of our nuts and coffee beans.
