Fennel - Whole

Native to South America, Asia, and Africa, fennel seeds are green oblong seeds that are similar in flavor to anise. Whole fennel seeds bring new life and flavor to marinades and sausages, and add a tremendous dimension when pickling. Toasting the whole seeds for one to two minutes in a dry, hot skillet will intensify the aroma and the flavor.
