Sahadis in Japan!

Sahadis in Japan!

We have spent our whole lives in the food business, and when we travel (for us, it's always a mix of business and pleasure!) we prioritize visiting food markets and grocery stores. Japan absolutely didn’t disappoint in that regard. This past April, we visited several cities in Japan (Kobe was my favorite) during cherry blossom season.

The food culture is amazing. From the morning fish markets where you eat sashimi standing up in the middle of a fish shop, to the amazing snacks everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean everywhere. The vending machines! We went to supermarkets with gorgeous and bountiful food stalls in the lower levels and snacked our way through smaller grocery stores and organic markets. It goes without saying we hit all four of the big convenience stores. Egg salad sandwiches everywhere. #iykyk

This month in store, we are running a deal on Kewpie Mayo. Regularly priced at $8.25 each, all of May it will be just $5.25. Kewpie is the main reason why those egg salad sandwiches are so addictive (well that, and the white bread). For those not in shopping distance, you can purchase our blend of Shichimi Togarashi or Wasabi powder to recreate Japanese flavors at home.

The gorgeous country, lovely respectful people, great food and our amazing travel companions (they are all in the food industry also!) made this a terrific trip. We're already planning our return.
